AHB strongly supports efforts to strengthen the viability of the agricultural economy in our area. Some strategies involve allowing new commercial uses of land zoned as rural-agricultural (RA). Examples of new uses have included value-added processing and agricultural tourism. Because much of the land zoned as RA is covered with forests and wetlands, AHB has provided policy makers with background information on best practices required by other jurisdictions to manage potential environmental impacts.
