Gardening Tips
Native plants have huge advantages for gardeners. They are relatively hardy, having adapted to our locale over geologic time. They don’t need fertilizers and generally require less water. However, even native plants can be picky, with some preferring sun, some shade, some wet soil, some dry soil, etc. Beneficial insects may have preferences too, being thankful, for example, when they don’t have to fly too far to get to their next meal.
While we often rely on trial and error to discover our “goldilocks” gardens, we also can learn from the experience of others. This page has information on some “frequently asked questions” (FAQ) about planting and maintaining gardens. We hope it’s helpful!
